One of the largest roof-top farms in the Midwest, RISE Farms is located in the heart of downtown Wichita, Kansas. RISE Farms consists of a 15,000-square-foot urban farm and a 204-panel solar farm situated on the top floor of Fidelity Bank’s mixed-use RISE Car Park development. Here we grow a variety of produce in a no-waste manner to supply area restaurants and residents with fresh, local ingredients. Additionally, we partner with Fidelity Bank’s Office of Culture & Talent on employee engagement programs. RISE Farms is an urban extension of our sustainable farming mission. In addition to providing local produce, the green-roof farm lessens the urban heat island effect, curbs building energy costs and prevents excess storm water run-off. Coupled with the solar farm, which provides power to the parking structure and ground level retail locations, RISE is truly a beacon of environmental progress.

Rommey Farms is the choice for local, fresh produce to feed south central Kansans. We are small growers supporting sustainable agriculture in the heart of the Flint Hills, 4 miles west of Cassoday, Kansas. Now in our 4th season, we have a vibrant Community Supported Agriculture program serving over 31 families weekly. The farm has supplied 3 food vendors and contributed to a Farm to Table dinner for Susan B. Allen Memorial Hospital. Selling at the Original El Dorado Farmers Market , Kechi’s Farmer Market and the Wichita Old Town Farmers Market. In 2016 my husband Don and I had a vision to use our farm to feed our local communities. Since its beginning establishment, we have served 31 families through our Community Supported Agriculture program, worked with restaurants and food suppliers. Our vision is to bolster local and rural economies and create an option for local food to strengthen and help diversify our food system. To build a community that values local farmers, good food, soil and water, and learning.

2009: Sarah Jane found herself laid off from the aircraft industry with one small child and another on the way. As a family they decided her staying home with the children added more value than a weekly paycheck. She planted a garden and canning became a part of that to fill the pantry for winter. Many times she would have a surplus and shared with friends who wanted to pay her for the goodness she was giving them in jars, so….the venture of Sarah Jane’s was born.
2017: Sarah’s husband, Shane, joined the business full time to help manage the continued growth. Shane & Sarah say working together as a team has allowed them to overcome more obstacles. Their children, Regan & Zane are also frequently seen helping at the shop in Argonia.
Sarah Jane’s creates a variety of gourmet jarred products as well as delicious take and bake meals at their shop on Main Street in Argonia. If you visit, you may peruse their selection of Kansas made products, meet the makers of Sarah Jane’s delicious goodies, and tour the facility. Visiting Tip: Ask for Zane, he gives the best tours!
Sarah Jane’s is dedicated to creating intense gourmet flavors with locally sourced ingredients. When you purchase their products you are not only supporting local growers but also a Kansas family with inspirations of fantastic food and living life without regrets. Thank you! ~ Sarah Jane, Shane, Regan & Zane
